As a seasonal business, we are typically open from mid-February through early June for our Spring season and mid-September-early December for our Fall season.

There are advantageous times to plant in our climate. Most plants typically root best when soils temperatures are between 65-75°F. During the cold winter months and hot summer months, your plants don't have the best chance. We not only want to sell you plants, we want to make sure the conditions are right for them to thrive!

We have a variety of low maintenance plants, including succulents, hanging baskets, and ferns. Very few plants are "no maintenance" if you want them to look their best. Be sure to ask about maintenance while you are at the nursery to ensure that the plants you are choosing match your maintenance time goals.

Gardening can be very rewarding, and it's scalable!  You can have a small container garden or acres of rows. Start with something that is manageable for you- choose your favorite seasonal vegetables, make sure you have good fertilizer, a pest-control plan, and get started. We are here to help!

Simply put, it's too damn hot. There are a great many plants that you may see in other locations- pansies, snapdragons, etc.- that are blooming in the summer months. Those are fall crops in our zone because they like cooler soil temperatures, and they will start to look worse for the wear when temps start hitting the upper-80s and 90s. 

This question depends on a great many variables- the makeup of your soil, the plants you are growing, how often you fertilize, and even how often you (or Mother Nature) water. Typically, if you are looking to "green and grow," a balanced fertilizer is best. If you have specific needs, we are here to help!

Drainage is the most important thing when considering a soil or soil additive. You want a soil that will hold moisture long enough to ensure that roots have time to absorb the nutrients in the soil, but not so long that root-rot becomes an issue. We have a custom mix that we grow our plants in that is offered at the nursery.

We are sorry, not sorry. We are truly a Mom-and-Pop business. We do not have a dedicated person to answer phones.
