Ayers
A good all-round pear that displays clusters of fragrant, pink and white flowers in the spring. Yellow pears with a red blush fruit ripen in mid-summer. An old southern favorite with a smooth, very sweet and melting flesh. Good disease resistance. Requires 600 hours of chilling. Pollinator recommended. Blooms in spring. Matures July-August. Fresh, dessert and cooking.

Bartlett
Deciduous tree produces large, smooth golden fruit with a red blush. Buttery, juicy, tender, white flesh. Needs 800 hours of winter chilling. This is the leading variety of pear for commercial and home use. Pollinator recommended. Blooms late winter-early spring. Harvest when fruit is easily lifted from the tree: August to early September. Fruit is good for canning, desserts, or eating fresh.

Kieffer
Deciduous tree produces greenish yellow fruit with crisp, juicy white flesh. Low chill variety needs only 400 hours of minter chilling. Stores well. Heat and cold tolerant; fireblight resistant. Pollinator recommended. Blooms in late spring Harvest when fruit is easily lifted from the tree: mid-September to early November. Fruit is good for canning or baking.

Moonglow
Vigorous, upright tree produces yellowish-green fruits with a red blush and white flesh. Needs 500 hours of chilling Pollinator required. Blooms in spring. Canning, juice, fresh eating.

Orient
Very heavy bearer of golden, bell shaped, sweet, juicy pears in fall. Creamy white, fragrant blooms in spring. Requires a cross pollinating variety for maximum production. Glossy, green leaves have a red fall color. Needs 300 hours of chilling. Pollinator recommended. Blooms in mid-spring. Matures in August-September. Fresh, dessert and cooking.

Shinko (Asian)
Deciduous tree produces golden brown fruit with the flavor and sweetness of a pear and the crispness and quality of an apple. Needs 450 hours of winter chilling. Pick when tree is ripe. Long storage life. Superb flavor. Pollinator recommended. Blooms in early spring. Fruit ripens from mid September to mid-October. Fruit is excellent for eating fresh, in fruit salads, or canning.

Planting Instructions: Dig hole big enough to allow 12” of fill soil between root ball and the sides of the hole. Install the plant so that the top of the root ball is slightly higher than existing soil grade. Backfill with topsoil and water heavily to eliminate air pockets.
